Lake Agco – Natural Hot Spring & Cold Spring in Kidapawan

Lake Agco is located inside Mt. Apo Natural Park. It’s a natural wonder with lots of hot springs and cold springs, jacuzzi, steam bath and mud mask.

How to Go to Lake Agco

From Davao City, ride a van at SM Mall going to Kidapawan City. Once you arrive in Kidapawan, hire a tricycle and ask the driver to drop you at a habal-habal terminal going to Ilomavis. The fare for the habal-habal ride going to Lake Agco is around 100 Pesos per head.

Agko Mahomanoy Mountain Resort

Our choice of stay was Mahomanoy Resort since they have rooms with comfort rooms, open cottages and restaurants.

Address: Sitio Agco, Ilomavis, Kidapawan City

Contact Numbers for Inquiries & Reservation: 09489752052 / 09265721866

The resort is managed by Manobos who are friendly and accommodating. However, other tourists may not be so nice because one of my friends have lost a pair of shorts. So always keep an eye on your belongings!

They also have a pool for the kids.

And of course they have a relaxing steam room.

The Boiling Hot Lake & The Mud Facial Mask

I guess the best attraction here is the boiling hot lake. You will literally hear the ground boiling and just look at that smoke!

The entrance fee here is 10 Pesos.

Lake Agco

The mud around this lake is rich in sulfur and they say that it’s good for the skin. It can be used as a facial mud mask.

There’s also a healing spring which they say can cure certain diseases.

Surrounding the area Manobos’ Sacred Tribal and Ancestral Grounds. There’s even a sacred place that’s off-limits to tourists.

Jacuzzi at Antapan Mountain Resort

Another experience to try in Lake Agco is the jacuzzi bath at Antapan Mountain Resort.

Entrance Fee
Adult 20 Pesos
Children below 8 years old 10

The resort is open from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM only.

They also have their own steam room.

For me, Lake Agco is a great destination for  relaxing and bonding with nature. Not only is it affordable but also an opportunity to learn about the Manobo culture.

I’m not sure if it’s allowed but I didn’t see any equipment for cooking there. What we did is we bought a chicken and have them cook it.

Some parts are not yet concrete but they were building roads when we went there so maybe they’re done now. I also saw cars that were parked there.
