Mambukal Mountain Resort in Negros

Mambukal Mountain Resort is the place to relax in Negros, Occidental. It offers seven waterfalls, hot and cold springs, butterfly sanctuary, flying fox sanctuary and a boating lagoon. You can take a nice walk around the resort where the sceneries are very charming.

Contact Numbers for Reservations: (034) 433-8516 / (034) 709-0990
Location: Brgy. Minoyan-Murcia, Province of Negros Occidental

The entrance fee is ₱ 50 for adults and ₱ 20 for kids 11 years old and below. You can rent an accommodation from ₱ 600-2000 per night. In our case we paid ₱ 90 for the entrance fee including the camping fee. Then we rented a tent for ₱ 600 which is good for three people. It seems like they’re always fully booked on peak seasons so better to book a reservation with them first though they also accept walk-in guests.

How to Go to Mambukal Mountain Resort

To go to Mambukal from Bacolod, ride a jeepney going to Libertad Public Market. Then ride a mini-bus going to Barangay Murcia. Just tell the driver to drop you at Mambukal since it’s a well-known resort in the area.

The Seven Waterfalls

You can trek to visit the seven waterfalls. Though you need to do some climbing, the trail is just easy since they already created concrete stairs. It’s open from 7AM to 4PM but they can close it if it’s raining or for other safety reasons. Everyone is required to get a tour guide but it’s up to you how much to tip your guide.

7 Waterfalls Mambukal

The water is really cool but some of the falls are close for swimming.

Hot Spring

The main attraction in Mambukal are the hot springs. It is believed that dipping in these sulfuric hot springs have some medicinal effects. There are two hot springs in the resort, the regular one (₱ 30) and the Japanese Ofuro (₱ 100). I haven’t observed any difference in the warmth of the water but the Japanese Ofuro has better design and is less crowded. The hot spring is closed every Tuesday for maintenance.

Boating Lagoon

This is my favorite and one of the nicest views in Mambukal. The boating fee is ₱ 40 and it closes at 4PM.

Swimming Pool

If you want a cool dip, Mambukal resort also has a swimming pool. Entrance fee is ₱ 50 and it closes at 5PM.

Butterfly Garden

For only ₱ 30, you can enter this garden with lots of beautiful and colorful butterflies. They also sell some butterfly decors but take note that the butterflies they use have died of natural causes.

Mambukal Mountain Resort has a lot to offer at very affordable prices. The place is ideal for family outings and team buildings.

It’s relatively safe and they provide a padlock for the tent. But we always brought our valuables with us whenever we leave the camp site.
