If you are headed to Bacolod, The Ruins should definitely be in your itinerary. It’s a heritage site with rich cultural background. Dubbed as the Taj Mahal of Negros, The Ruins was built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in loving memory of his wife Maria Braga.
How to Go to The Ruins
Take a jeepney en route to Bata and get off at Ceres bus terminal. There are tricycles there that you can hire for around 30 pesos per head.

It’s best to visit the place at around 4 PM or before the sunset when it’s no longer too hot and the light is just right for taking photos. There are also snacks and drinks sold in the site if you wish to stay longer and relax.

My favorite part of this heritage site is the Koi pond.
It’s definitely a must-visit if you’re headed to Bacolod. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends or family, you will enjoy its beauty.
